I have been thinking about fear and how it affects us in life. All human beings carry fear within.

For me it has been very important not allow myself to be controlled by my inner fear. One thing spirit has taught me is that to face fear is a very positive thing.  When fear takes over it can become quite a severe handicap; the demons within starts to dance. I can remember the very first time I worked for TV. That was scary. But when I am afraid, I am awake and focused. If I was blasé, I would go off in the wrong direction giving my demons more power.

Fear is both the most destructive force we have on our planet and a very good friend, offering us warnings and insights into situations and people. It has saved my life a couple of times. When I face my fear, I do not always feel brave, but life has taught me that if a try to avoid it I am just devaluing myself and what I could become. Fear can also make us stop and think before we throw ourselves into something new that we are not ready for.

We want to know what is going to happen before we take a risk, but if I never took risks I would stagnate. Working as a medium is a risk, because I use my mind as my tool. Of course, I can feel fear. What will people think? But I refuse to let that feeling control my life. If I did, I would not become what I am supposed to be.

I meet many people with wonderful potential, this natural intelligence that they were born with, but I often hear: “I am not ready yet.” When we say that we are denying ourselves. I rather face fear. It is better to try to do something, to take the risk instead of hiding in a corner were nobody will recognise you. The only way to meet fear is to trust yourself and say: Yes I can.

There are so many good people unaware of that they have the ability to create something good in their lives. Their lives go in circles, they find themselves in the same situation again and again. If you walk away from fear, it will rebound and show itself again, until you deal with it.

When I face fear, I will discover the origin of that fear. Fear is born of many different things: Failures, mistreatment etc. Facing fear gives you freedom.

If there were no risks, if we did not have to face our feelings, what would we learn?

This is a daily challenge. What is going to decide? Fear or me? Do not push your fear away, do not try to hide it in a cupboard, bring it out and start a dialogue. Believe that you are strong enough to follow your own dreams and your destiny.

Terry Evans interest in parapsychology and mediumship began at an early age. His first encounter with an actual spiritualist medium came at the age of 22, when he was given his first private consultation by a medium. The effects of that experience were to prove to be a turning point in his life, offering new realisations. These realisations motivated Terry to develop his own inner potential of mediumship and intuition.
