Throughout my years as a medium I have met endless people that have come to me to find solutions to their problems. With all respect, many of them have not realized that the life situations we find ourselves in or the answers we seek is a process. For me, I have realized that I have to look to myself, because that answer or solution I seek lies within me but it is not always presented in a form that my ego is ready to accept. We human beings do not always want to take responsibility for ourselves. We do not want to commit the time or the work to reach a conclusion that can free us from the dilemma in which we find ourselves.

As a medium I have often been the target of a person’s disappointment and frustration, because I have not been able to give them the answers they have wanted to hear or a solution to their problems. However, sometimes I have been able to offer a key that would help the person to take the initial step to finding a solution, but many have been reluctant to listen and act upon it. It is amazing how many people give the responsibility to others whom they feel should help them out of their life crises when they have failed to realize that the situation they find themselves in is a result of their self-denial.

Some people are of the opinion that a medium has the answer to everything. As I have said before, that has never been my experience. Very often I have clients and students that I cannot help in every aspect, so sometimes I refer them to people that have the expertise and knowledge to help that person take the next step. Many have taken this opportunity and received the help they have needed to take a step towards resolving the crisis in which they find themselves.

’’To take personal responsibility is to face yourself and accept yourself the way you really are.

Then there are those that persistently refuse to listen, because they do not want to meet themselves and play their part in finding a solution. I have known individuals that have gone from one therapist, to a medium or a healer and repeating this pattern again and again. But it was of no consequence or help, because they choose to attach the blame for their life situation onto someone else. They do not want to be responsible for their life.

I find this is a very sad thing to witness when people have become a victim of their own ego or arrogance. To take personal responsibility is to face yourself and accept yourself the way you really are. I believe that it is not until you begin to do that that you find a satisfactory solution. To face yourself the way you really are that is when you find your courage and that is when you can come into contact with that love and light that so many people talk about, but do not really understand. If you for instance think you are a worker for the light, then you must be aware of that the light knows much better than you, but cannot help you unless you want to cooperate with it. For those who refuse to leave their outmoded mind-set it will only serve to take them deeper and deeper into their darkness. Their own self-destructive nature takes over and becomes their master.

’’I believe that every human being has light and darkness within them.

Every situation we find ourselves in is an opportunity to learn something about ourselves to become more emotionally intelligent in how we handle our everyday life. So every time you blame somebody else whether it is by gossip or slander then you are just trying to bring other individuals down. Ultimately you become the victim of yourself. That is a universal law. I believe we play a big part in our destiny and what we become. I believe that every human being has light and darkness within them.

When you are looking for solutions and quick answers ask yourself: What part can I play in resolving this and finding the answers I need so that I bring much more quality into my life, so that the higher power I believe in can touch me with that love and light? The way that I try to do it is to say to the God that I believe in: Show me what it is that prevents me from finding the answers I need.

I look forward to hearing your comments!

Terry Evans interest in parapsychology and mediumship began at an early age. His first encounter with an actual spiritualist medium came at the age of 22, when he was given his first private consultation by a medium. The effects of that experience were to prove to be a turning point in his life, offering new realisations. These realisations motivated Terry to develop his own inner potential of mediumship and intuition.
