An episode that I often think about and still laugh about today took place as I was giving an evening of clairvoyance at a spiritualist church in south London.
I begin to feel the presence of a spirit man and he directs me to a lady sitting in the front row. This lady, a typical Londoner, both dialect and humour, confirms that it is her father. It is obvious that he had been a humorous man himself, because it is difficult not to laugh when I feel his presence.
Suddenly he shows me a picture of a dog and as this picture becomes clearer to me I realize that this dog has false teeth in its’ mouth! Puzzled, I think to myself: “I cannot say that… It does not make any sense to me!” The spirit man picks up my thoughts and says: “You must give this information to my daughter”. I think: “Not a chance!” However, the spirit man finally persuades me by saying: “Just give it as it is. Do not try to understand it.” So, I just turn to the woman and say. “Your father is showing me a dog with false teeth in his mouth”. I have barely finished the sentence as the audience erupts in laughter.
It takes some minutes to calm them all down and bring them all back to normality. When the daughter finally has the opportunity to reply she says: “I know what my father is talking about. He is reminding me of the time when the dog stole his false teeth from the glass beside the bed and chewed them up.” For a second time laughter comes from the audience to which there is no chance that I am going to be heard any further that night. They had tears of mirth running down their faces.
It just goes to show that all information does not have a literal meaning when it is given to you from a spirit contact. It can have quite a different meaning. There was me thinking: “I wonder if they had taken the dog to the veterinarian and had to have all his teeth removed?” That was my logical mind, but this event just shows that when we cross the bridge to the other side we take with us our humour and our personality.
