I have many acquaintances; they are warm and friendly people that have made their contribution to my life, but true friends I can just count on one hand and if I am lucky I can also count a few on the other hand. I have friends that I have known for 30 years or more and I have friends that live in different countries. We do not have the opportunity to meet so often, but whenever we do meet it just takes a second or two to reconnect. Friendship has many different faces.

Friends for me are not someone that you try to change, you accept them for the way they are. Friendship cannot be conditional. Whatever the differences are true friendship always finds a middle ground where compassion, compromise and acceptance are shown. A friend for me is someone that is not a fair weather friend. A true friend is someone who stands by your side when the going gets tough, someone you can lean on, turn to and share your troubles with, and at the same time laugh together with until tears run down your face. But of course, it would not be a friendship if you never felt frustration or irritation with your friends. With friendship there are also times when there need to be forgiveness for misdemeanors that are committed consciously or unconsciously. Without these aspects in the friendship how would you know you have a friend?

‘When you find a real friend you accept all of their different traits.

Having good friends is a very important part of my life, to laugh together and to tease one another. There is so much on the menu of friendship. There are many different kinds of friends too and not all of them live in this dimension. There are also my spirit friends and my family members in spirit, they are my spiritual mentors. Like any true friendship I do not have to ask them to step forward. They see what I need themselves.

I have many different kinds of friends with different personalities and traits. When you find a real friend you accept all of their different traits. My spirit friends they accept me for whom I am, they love to tease me and laugh with me. When they think I am not paying enough attention to their friendship they are very mischievous. They move things around in my house or turn up quite unexpectedly.

‘For me friendship is a gift to be received with an open heart, a piece of gold, a precious gem that creates a light within.

I remember a little boy, many years ago. His was called Andrew. He came and knocked on my door and asked me to repair the puncture on his bicycle. I do not know what brought him to my door, but that little boy and I became friends. As I write about him it brings a smile to my face. I remember the times he would knock on my door and ask me to come out to play. Sadly he passed quite young because of tragic events, but in my heart he is still my friend. The memories of that friendship can never be eradicated, they live on forever.

A friendship is a very special kind of love. So when you hear a knock on the door, which is unexpected and you find a friend standing at your door. You invite them in with an open heart. For me friendship is a gift to be received with an open heart, a piece of gold, a precious gem that creates a light within.

So, I would like to say thank you to my friends, you who live in another dimension and to the friends I have, past and present, because you gave so much.

Terry Evans interest in parapsychology and mediumship began at an early age. His first encounter with an actual spiritualist medium came at the age of 22, when he was given his first private consultation by a medium. The effects of that experience were to prove to be a turning point in his life, offering new realisations. These realisations motivated Terry to develop his own inner potential of mediumship and intuition.
