I prefer that those who wish to come to a long-term education with me first come to a five day introduction course; which is like a buffet of mediumship, healing, intuition and the Mountain Meditation. It gives the students the opportunity to decide whether or not I am the right teacher for them and how they want to go further. All mediums and teacher have different ways of working and different ways of teaching.
That first introduction course awakens a lot of things within the student; abilities, fears and possibilities that they have been completely unaware of. When they begin to be introduced to these hidden aspects of themselves it is wonderful to witness them having a moment of realization, especially when I take them into unknown territory. The door of opportunity opens, despite doubts and fears, and they begin to realize that they actually can do the tasks I give them.
For many that appetite for self-discovery and knowledge increases, after having taken that first step to explore their inner world. My job as a teacher is not to give them my truth. My task is to bring them in contact with themselves and their own reality, in order for them to find their own truth and their own identity, in other words what is their natural intelligence and what works for them? I do not have the answer for anyone else’s truth, but my job is to help for those that I teach discover who they really are and what they actually can do. Perhaps I can teach them how to answer their own questions?
Sometimes after that first initial introduction course it may take them two or three years to return. I do not decide for them which education they should take. That must be their own decision based on what they feel is right for them. Some go on to other courses with other teachers who they feel are more appropriate for them. I believe no one has the license on truth and no one can be everything to everyone. In my own lifetime I have been to different teachers, and received new pieces of the puzzle that has taken me closer to a more complete picture of myself. There is no “right teacher” or “best teacher”, but everybody has something relevant to offer someone.
What I have noticed in relation to myself and some of those I have taught, this desire to learn can be satisfied for a while, but once we apply that learning to become an integral part of us that hunger for knowledge returns. I believe that it is the soul saying: “Come on! Time to learn a little bit more.”
I think it is sad when we think that we have reached this plateau and have nothing else to learn. Life and my students for me is a teacher. So to teach for me is a constant ebb and flow of what the teacher offers and what the student also offers. I believe that the teacher should always have an open mind and be ready to learn something new.
I find it fascinating to teach mediumship and personal development. I believe that without this hunger and this passion to understand the subjects that I teach that aspect of myself would be empty and without motivation. This passion I speak of constantly needs to be fed and watered. I truly hope it stays with me to the day when it is time for me to cross that bridge to the other side.
