Why do people think mediums have all the answers? I have worked as a channel for spirit for many years and, as I have mentioned before, there have been many times when people have come to me with a long list of questions. I have politely had to ask them to put those questions to one side and tell them: “Let us see what answers spirit will want to give to you without me as the medium needing to know anything beforehand.” So many times after a sitting the client have said: “They answered all my questions without me having to ask”.
It is my experience that the spirit world, this higher intelligence, already knows everything there is to know about the client sitting in front of me who wishes to have contact with the other side. They see our strengths and our weaknesses. They know what we are dealing with; they know what is happening in our lives. Believe it or not we are transparent to them, they can see right through us.
The spirit team I have worked for, for many years, they do not want me to become dependent on them to the point where I stop thinking for myself. They have taught me to come into contact with my personal resource. They have lead me to meet my negativity i.e. aspects of myself that are destructive. When they have shown me what I have to work with I have not always been aware of it, but I have realized that I cannot fix everything on my own. I do not have all the answers, for others or myself. They have encouraged me to go to therapists and healers that could help me unravel the chaos of my inner world so became aware of how these aspects hinder me in my life.
They have encouraged me to take risks, to try new things or new ways of being. They have put me in touch with an inner resource that has proved to be a stronger and stronger platform to stand on. I am much more aware of myself today. In my experience spirit guides me to use my own natural resource. Of course I still need spirit, but I have learned that when I need their help I do not even have to ask. When I struggle with solving a particular problem, very often spirit tell me the outcome of the situation and say: “Leave that situation alone, do not put any time or energy in it.” Sometimes quite unexpectedly they will offer me a diamond that becomes like the final piece of the puzzle.
Most of the time their purpose is to lead me towards what I am naturally meant to be; to get in touch with the purpose of my life. The spirit world has taught me to stand on my own two feet, think for myself and work from my own resource. They have taught me that it is healthy to ask for help: “I cannot fix this on my own”, and for that I am very grateful.
With humility and love they sometimes come and knock on my door and say: “Terry, you made a mistake there.” As they do that I can fairly quickly identify the source that created that mistake. It helps me keep walking my road.
I believe all us human beings have the possibility to answer our own questions and create our own lives, but we must be responsible for it. We cannot expect someone else to come into our lives and fix everything for us. So next time you go to a medium you can carry your questions in your head, but do not write them on a piece of paper. Do not tell the medium, because the spirit world will already know where you are and what is happening in your life. That is my experience as a medium.
So, I have the companionship of spirit, but I have realized that there is no purpose for them to give me everything on a plate, where I do not have to think for myself. My life is my responsibility.
