When I first became involved with spiritualism and mediumship, I heard a lot of talk and discussion about guides. Some people had Chinese guides, some Native American guides… all sorts of guides. I did not quite understand what the purpose was or what these guides were supposed to be doing, but now I hope I have understood much more about them. I am myself connected to this “person” who calls himself Ascala.
The first time Ascala showed himself to me it was as a Tibetan monk. I can still see this image clearly today, even though it was a long time ago he showed himself in that manner. In latter years I have become much closer to the Buddhist philosophy. It is very powerful, but also a very easy philosophy to follow.
For me guides are a part of me and that they are linked to the spirit world. They are a higher form of intelligence; whose purpose is to help me fulfil the promises I made before I came into this incarnation. They certainly are not there to answer all my questions. Before I came to this incarnation, I made a promise to develop myself, to realise the things I have to work with and to confront the things I had not dealt with in another incarnation. When I went to mediums when I was young, there were many predictions about my future. One of them in particular gave me very clear messages about what I was meant to do, but the mystery of what I was supposed to achieve in this lifetime was clearly already within me when I was born.
As I opened up more, Ascala was able to come closer to me. Step by step he guided me through my spiritual development and put me in situations where I would learn more about myself and also find the answers within. His purpose was (and still is) to keep me on the right pathway of my purpose, where I of course encounter a lot of obstacles that will help me grow and to achieve purpose.
“If I listen to Ascala we can make magic together, if I do not, we have to go back to step one, but that is a part of the process.
The Ascala intelligence knows when I am ready to accept new challenges. Ascala then sends me a new, unexpected challenge or opportunity. I cannot push him; I just have to accept with an open mind. With some of the challenges, at the time I have not been sure if I am fully equipped to accept them, but Ascala is fully aware of my strengths and weaknesses. Ascala can travel through my consciousness, sometimes at the speed of light. One day he showed his knowledge as different subpersonalities. He said to me:
– The way in which I show myself to you is often what I have to teach.
When I drift off the pathway and want to do something that is not my purpose, everything seems to come to an abrupt halt, and then I might hear Ascala whisper to me:
– At the moment I am struggling with your ego and how you want things to be.
My guide, the Ascala I know, is an empathetic intelligence. Over the years I believe our companionship have become even closer. I can feel him standing beside me as I am writing this. One time I said to him:
– If you are my guide, why do you not help me prevent myself from going into situations where I will make mistakes. He laughed and answered:
– The most important lessons in life we can learn from our mistakes, so that we can become much more conscious of ourselves.
If I listen to Ascala we can make magic together, if I do not, we have to go back to step one, but that is a part of the process. Then there is a valuable lesson in the offing. Ascala has taught me to focus. When communicating with him or with others I have learned to open my mind and just receive, listen and feel.
Ascala is a part of me and I am a part of him.
