During my working years as a medium I have encountered many people that through me have received the message that they have this particular inner potential. Very often that inner potential comes into the persons consciousness as a thought: “I wish I could do this” or “I have this dream”, without realizing that their soul is talking to them.
But, it is not just enough to know that we have this potential; we have to work with it and develop a relationship with it. An individual’s inner potential can cover any aspect of life, it can be a carrier or a calling, but to allow our potential to become part of our reality we have to work with it, learn to understand it and let it become an active part of our soul and our everyday life. From just knowing we have to take steps towards taking action and work with it. To be able to do that we have to give it time, this normally means making some sacrifice.
When I realized my potential I had to use a part of my private time and by that I mean the time that are given to my family, my friends, my job and sometimes that was difficult. So for many years I used what was left of my private time to educate myself as a medium. That often meant working with these things after a long day’s hard work. Sometimes I had to make an effort, at times I would have rather gone home, eaten some food and just relaxed.
“Even though it was a long time ago I made the decision to find out what my potential is, the interesting thing is that I still discover potential I did not know I had.”
Of course there were times when I wanted to make excuses and say: No, not tonight, but the only time I ever cancelled was through sickness or unexpected things happening at my work that required my time. I believe that if you are truly committed to allowing your potential to manifest it also means changing old ways of thinking and sometimes leaving daily routines behind you, which no longer serve you.
It is very easy to make excuses and find reasons why we do not have the time at that particular moment, just because something more interesting has come up. It is in those moments I discover if I was truly committed or not. I have also seen many who have made a serious commitment to their dreams and realized that it has given their life a new purpose, a new meaning and they no longer have that empty feeling within whereby they are thinking: “What is missing from my life?”
Even though it was a long time ago I made the decision to find out what my potential is, the interesting thing is that I still discover potential I did not know I had. It is like with any training program or education, we do not get it right the first time, not every time. We make mistakes and meet opposition.
Once we allow our potential to manifest it lights up the light within that motivates us to walk that pathway. That burning light inside is called enthusiasm and commitment. It helps us to be strong enough during that journey, to dare make mistakes and also realise them. So wherever you are in your life, whatever your dream and unknown purpose might me, go and find it. It is there waiting for you somewhere. Undiscovered potential and dreams they walk hand in hand.
These words I write maybe it is just a little reminder or a push for you who feel that you are in some kind of limbo? Trust and dare, because one day you might realise that it was all worth it. When we realise our potential we are fulfilled.
