An unexpected family member

As many of you know it was not so long ago our dear cat Woody had to be put to sleep because of his medical condition. That was a sad loss for us. Astrid and I decided that we did not want a new cat after that, not for some time at least. Then Astrid had her birthday last weekend. When I went to pick up my wife’s daughter and her husband, and amongst their luggage was a carrier bag with a cat in it. It was supposed to be a gift for my wife. I was quite surprised, and to be frank, not so happy about it.

But over the last few days we have received some more information about her. She had been abandoned in a ditch with her kittens. So, I did not have the heart to send her away. She has been with us for five days and I have to say she has captured my heart. She is a nice little character and so inquisitive. It would appear she is a very good hunter, but she is very kind and funny.

Lizzie, as we have named her, follows me around like a little dog. I do not know who is in control, me or the cat. She comes looking for me and she wakes me up at 5:30 in the morning! She wants my attention. When I sleep, I have a glass of water by my bed, now I have to share it with the cat!

Even though I was not that happy about her arrival now she has won my heart and taken control over me. I think she will be with us for quite some time. When she came Astrid said to me: I am sure she has had kittens. She was behaving in a certain way. So, Astrid took her to the vet today and she could confirm that the cat had been pregnant. Lizzie is still looking for her kittens. Poor thing, I feel her pain.

As I was talking to Viktoria telling her we had a new family member she said: “That cat is in paradise now. She has a home where she will be well taken care of and where she can feel safe.”

I did not know we needed a Lizzie in our home, but as I often say: We always get what we need. I guess we need each other.

Terry Evans interest in parapsychology and mediumship began at an early age. His first encounter with an actual spiritualist medium came at the age of 22, when he was given his first private consultation by a medium. The effects of that experience were to prove to be a turning point in his life, offering new realisations. These realisations motivated Terry to develop his own inner potential of mediumship and intuition.
