Sometimes I can get so stuck in routine and what must be done and when I go into that mode in retrospect I can think: When is the last time you had fun, Terry? Astrid and I both work hard and a few weeks ago she said:
– We must start doing more things for one another.
I understood what she meant, we need more time to have fun together. It is so easy to get stuck in a rut without realising it. A few days after having had this discussion Astrid said:
– What do you think about going to Stockholm for the day?
My first reaction was:
– Why? What would we do there?
– Because my son is singing in a choir and I have never seen him doing that. At the same time we can have coffee with the family and just sit together and talk.
To my surprise I said yes, without further questions. I like her family, they have adopted me.
It was so nice to see her enjoy herself with her family. Coming back home we started having a discussion about the future, about our lifestyle and our work. As we discussed what we would like to do and what we would like to change it brought us closer together, it was really creative to share our dreams and what we would like to do together. It was a really positive day with a nice ending that certainly gave me some answers to a lot of things.
So, dear Astrid did not waste any time using her initiative. As we were in Stockholm we realised there was another event we would like to visit in Stockholm this summer. I am looking forward to it.
Sometimes you say that you are going to do things, but you never get around to it, but this time we did and I am so glad we did.
