I remember the time when I was doing a photoshoot and all the mediums working for the production Det Okända. Lena Ranehag was one of them. She is a medium that I have great respect for.
As we were having coffee, she said she had some information to give me from the other side. She started giving me facts and told me I would meet a woman and fall in love again. At that moment in time I had no intention to live with or marry someone again. That was not in my plans. The strange thing is, just after that I had this vision of a woman standing on a balcony. She was waving and saying: “Be patient, I am coming to help you.” I thought I was losing it. But, to cut a long story short, I met that woman and got married, even though I had said “never again”.
I have now known my wife for five years, we got married 3,5 years ago. My wife is playful, smart and she is certainly a competitive person. We have had quite a few competitions and she wins most of them. It must provide spirit and Ascala with so much entertainment when we go into our discussions, especially when we are trying to be creative.
As I write this, I can hear Ascala laughing:
– In the time that you and Astrid have been together it has certainly been like watching a theatre. One never knows what will happen next. It is very entertaining for us here in spirit, but it is also nice to see how you have opened up more and more to one another, and in so doing become much closer together.
Astrid has a great sense of humour and she shows it in many different ways. She is like inspector Clouseau, she does not miss a thing, it is very confusing for me at times. Astrid is straight, but sensitive and colourful as a butterfly, and just like a butterfly she needs freedom of spirit. She is so funny, and she loves to tease me, but the interesting thing is I have learnt so much from her.
“For every positive and negative moment that we have shared, in retrospect I can say it certainly has been worth every minute.
I also have to add eccentric and unpredictable to the list. In the summer, for instance, when she has been gardening, I will not be able to find the tools. She scatters them, leaves them where she has been working. It is like a treasure hunt for me. It is both endearing and frustrating, but this is who she is and we are actually alike in many ways. We are like two halves of a whole, so different and yet so similar, and it certainly lends itself to a fascinating dynamic and exciting situations.
With my dear wife sometimes, it feels as if circus has come to town, because she can be very spontaneous and impulsive. When that happens, she can become very creative, then I do not know what changes I might find in our home. I can truly say I have never met anyone like her before. Meeting her has been so valuable for me. She awakens so many different feelings within me, but those are all parts of a relationship.
Have I changed over these five years? I think so, but one thing is for sure, during this journey that we make together you never know what to expect or how things are going to be, like in any relationship. But Astrid is my match and we suit one another. At the end of the day she is not just my wife, she is my friend. For every positive and negative moment that we have shared, in retrospect I can say it certainly has been worth every minute.
I hear Ascala chuckle:
– This journey has made you both realise and understand what real love is. You are both warriors, such are your natures and that is why you were brought together. We have heard your discussions about the future, and we like the decisions and the plans. We will walk with you.
